Information for students from ChileChilean earthquakes Monash University offers its condolences to those impacted by the Chilean earthquakes of late February 2010. Monash has a small but vibrant community of Chileans studying and working at the University and our thoughts go out to them during this difficult time. Monash is an acknowledged leader in education of international students. The international student experience is vital to Monash life - both in terms of the number of students who study abroad as part of their Monash education, and those from abroad who come to Monash. Monash has more than 56,000 students including 19,000 international students from more than 170 different countries.

English language requirements Monash University ensures all students have adequate proficiency in English prior to admissions to courses. English requirements for postgraduate study A minimum IELTS test score of 6.5 overall with at least 6.5 in Reading and Listening and at least 6.0 in Writing and Speaking. Please note many programs have higher requirements. See University English language requirements for more detailed information about specific requirements and other methods of meeting requirements. Students who do not meet requirements can apply to complete English language bridging programs through the Monash University English Language Centre.
