Are international students safe in Australia?In general, Australia is a diverse and tolerant nation and Melbourne is known as one of the most liveable -- and safest -- cities in the world. However, Australia is an urbanised society and not immune from crime. Australia welcomes international students and migrants, who have all played their part in the construction of a friendly, tolerant and progressive country. What is Monash University doing for safety for international students?We seek to create a safe environment at all of our campuses and provide information for students about personal safety.
We value the supportive multicultural environment at Monash and will do everything we can to further enhance this.
For help in non-urgent situations, Monash has established a Community Care Line as part of its commitment to providing a safe study environment. Students can call the Community Care Line to seek assistance in managing situations where their wellbeing is affected by inappropriate, threatening or concerning behaviours or events.
