AUG Going Green
This year the 2008 Australian University Games are Going Green! As well as working closely with sport venues to minimise their environmental impact.
Oaktree Foundation -- Charity of choice
Monash University is proud to have linked all of its game events to a charity of choice, in which the competitors and volunteers can actively raise money as a team or an individual for that particular charity.
Raise Your Hand
Monash will field the single largest team at the Australian University Games (AUG) with more than 550 students competing during the week-long competition.TeamMONASH™ clinches GOLD!!!
TeamMONASH™ has performed brilliantly during the
recent AUG’s, winning the overall title of the best
University in the country.
With stunning performances from individuals and teams
throughout the week, it was never in doubt that Monash,
on their home soil would take out the prestigious event.
AUG 2008 also had a real international feel. With competitors representing Monash from South Africa and Malaysia, TeamMONASH™ was equipped with the world’s best. The Papua New Guinean’s also added some true finesse and talent to the games.
The Oaktree foundation was also a prominent presence
throughout the games. With assistance from students,
staff and charity events ‘Schools 4 Schools’ raised more
than $4,000.
The volunteers also played their part. With more than 80
volunteers in areas such as customer service, media,
logistics, IT, and sports medicine, every athletes need was
accommodated for and the games ran smoothly.
Finals results will be updated on our uni games website
early next week. www.monash.edu/unigames
