Outcome 13: Deliver targeted education to LGBTIQA+ students to address disparities in reporting and seeking of support

The Safer Community Unit has updated its website to ensure the visibility of the team as LGBTIQA+ Allies. Other documentation and promotional material will be progressively refreshed. Relevant training materials and other digital content will be updated to ensure this is communicated in all references to the Safer Community Unit.

A brief has been developed, drawing on existing data and literature for a project to help further understand barriers to queer students accessing reporting pathways and support services.  Focus groups to be held to fulfil community consultation and a report including recommendations prepared in the second half of 2023.

External training offerings for response and other staff to appropriately support queer students and staff through the reporting or disclosure process have been researched and collated. Currently being assessed for best fit with anticipated delivery in late 2023/early 2024.
