Outcome 16: Relevant policy and procedure aligns with current best practice response to disclosures and reports of sexual assault and sexual harassment

The University has implemented an affirmative model of consent and is working to embed consistency in definitions across governance documents to be completed by end of 2023.

A review of educational content has been completed to ensure that a consistent affirmative consent model and definition is utilised.

The University has endorsed a change in terminology to ‘sexual harm’ as an umbrella term and work is underway to update all documentation including policies and communications.

Monash is currently developing a standalone Sexual Harm Prevention and Response Policy and associated procedures and schedules which will incorporate best practice approaches to prevention, support, reporting and response and include staff and students in scope.
