Clayton Residential Village

This is on-campus living at its best - social, supportive, and loads of fun. You'll have a private room with all the usual facilities. But here it's all about getting together and sharing the experience. There are shared kitchens and eating areas, as well as communal social rooms.

Our six halls of residence each with their own character, community, social activities and mascot - together with the South East Flats - make up our Residential Village.

Shared facilities

Each of our buildings has a communal laundry as well as common facilities like a music rehearsal room, table tennis and pool tables, TV rooms, and kitchen garden.

If you don't feel like cooking, there is the Halls Café where you can purchase freshly prepared meals at affordable prices. Or if a quick snack is what you're after, you can purchase one from the vending machines provided in your hall.

The theatre at Clayton residential, a 200 seat auditorium, is a multi-purpose space where we hold training for our leaders as well as have marathon movie nights. Our function room is a versatile space that is used to host academic dinners, social events, training, meetings and performances as well as being an ideal space for quiet study before exam time. On warm evenings, an outdoor cinema may play fabulous favourites.

Six halls to choose from

'Corridor-style' residences

'Stairway-style' residences

In our 'corridor-style' residences, rooms are arranged along one long corridor on each floor. There's one (sometimes two) shared kitchens per floor - and it's your floor that becomes your 'community within the community'.

The 'stairway-style' residences are a little different. There are four rooms on each floor, connected vertically by a stairway to similar floors above and below.

These vertical communities don't have a kitchen (there's a shared kitchen for the whole building which you can walk to) but they have a small utilities room shared between two floors with a fridge and other basic facilities.

South East Flats

There are 30 furnished apartments ranging from two to five bedrooms (most have four), where everyone has their own room. There's a common area called the Pavilion which overlooks a small lake - it's an ideal space to socialise and study. It has a kitchen and lounge room, with pool and table tennis tables and a projector screen.

The flats are designed for students looking for more privacy and greater independence and self-reliance.
