Peninsula Campus Developments

Peninsula Campus

Hockey pitch lighting

Upgrades to the Hockey Pitch lighting will commence in late April with completion expected mid-June. Upon commencement of the works we anticipate a total of 10 working days of noise disturbance with saw cutting, piling and digging. Contractors will start work after 9am when activity is near a Monash residential area.

Fire Ring Main

Commencing in May, Stage 1 of upgrades to the Peninsula Campus Fire Ring Main will result in 5 weeks of activity.  Two of these weeks will be in close proximity to Monash residential buildings and will involve noisy works including digging and trenching.  Some truck noise is also anticipated. Contractors will start work after 9am when there is activity near a Monash residential area.

Gillies Hall
Gillies Hall, named after Monash alumnus and prominent Australian political satirist, actor and director Dr Max Gillies AM, provides residents with a range of high-quality, sustainable living spaces.

The building is the most energy efficient building Monash has ever delivered, setting a new benchmark in sustainable development as the largest commercial Passive House building in Australia. Students moved into the 150-bed accommodation facility in February 2018.

Gillies Hall has been recognised for a number of awards within the architecture and building industries. View the Gillies Hall awards list below, or view the full list of accolades awarded to the University’s built projects here.
