William Lower - College Head, Campbell Hall
William grew up in rural Taranaki, New Zealand. He later pursued studies in business and restorative justice in Wellington, where he discovered a passion for student support and community development. William contributed to his university community in many capacities, and especially enjoyed working with teams to foster cultures of inclusiveness and learning. He enjoys nothing more than seeing students find a sense of belonging in their community.
William also has a keen interest in design and software development, and works on software projects in his spare time. Travel is another of William's passions — he enjoys learning languages and experiencing new cultures; he likes to get outdoors and explore whenever he can. Melbourne is one of William's favourite cities, and he is thrilled to be a part of the Campbell Hall team and contributing to student life at Monash.
Rumali Thisara Kularatne - Deputy College Head, Campbell Hall
Rumali (Rumi) is a Sri Lankan who was raised in Dubai, U.A.E. She moved to Melbourne in 2016 to undertake a Bachelor of Arts where she majored in Media Communications and minored in both Psychology and Marketing. Whilst pursuing her degree, Rumali was a Residential Advisor at Briggs Hall in 2017 and 2018, then at Farrer Hall as a Residential Support Assistant in 2019 before joining Normanby House as Deputy College Head for 2020. She is now thrilled to join Campbell Hall for 2021 and is looking forward to working collaboratively with all of you to make living on-campus a safe, enjoyable and memorable experience. Rumali also works with the Respectful Communities team on initiatives such as the ‘Respect.Now.Always’ campaign. She is passionate about creating inclusive and safe spaces. She hopes to continue work in gender-based violence prevention in the coming year and will also be commencing her Arts Honours Year program. In her downtime Rumali enjoys brunch with friends, painting, cooking and religiously watches Grey's Anatomy.
Ediri Thanura- Residential Support Assistant, Campbell Hall
Thanura is currently undertaking his fourth year of a double degree in Engineering and Science. Thanura has been heavily involved within the MRS community and the wider Monash Community through the Residential Advisor program, Resident's Committee, GLEAM (a club for Queer+ STEM students) and the Monash Student Association. Thanura is incredibly passionate about inclusion and loves working in diverse teams. Thanura also works at Respectful Communities assisting in the delivery of programs such as BRIGHT and the Masculinities Program. Thanura is also has a keen interest in student well-being and will be the Welfare Officer for the Monash Student Association in 2021. In his spare time, Thanura enjoys spending time with his friends, having a nice iced latte and running.
Annie Guo - Resident Advisor, Campbell Hall
Annie is a 19 year old student studying her second year of Medicine. Originally from Gippsland in regional Victoria, Annie is amazed that she’s on a campus which feels more densely populated than her town. As an avid baker, she enjoys watching Masterchef and her favourite food is dim sum, owing to her Chinese heritage. In her spare time, she enjoys playing badminton and walking her dog called Spud. In the coming years, she would love to travel around Europe with friends and visit the Swiss Alps. She has a phobia of birds and has a turbulent relationship with the plovers around campus.
Oliver Yin- Resident Advisor, Campbell Hall
Oliver is a second year Campbell resident who is pursuing a career in financial mathematics and commerce. Born in Jinan and moved to Ballarat, he decided to move to the city of Melbourne to continue his studies in hopes of working overseas in the future. He was previously the vice-president of Campbell Hall Society upon his first year of arriving. Outside of studying, you can find him exercising, gaming, hanging out with his friends or exploring the culinary world of Melbourne. He is constantly looking for new opportunities to meet new residents and creating stronger bonds so don't hesitate to talk to him about anything and everything!
Chris Wong - Resident Advisor, Campbell Hall
Chris was born and raised in Auckland, New Zealand as a Chinese Kiwi. He found his passion for technology as a child when he first discovered a computation device. Chris moved to Melbourne in 2020 to study Bachelor of Information Technology majoring in Software Development. Chris enjoys listening to music, playing sports, and watching Netflix in his spare time. He loves to socialise and meet new people, traveling to new places, and enjoy exploring flavours of unique and different cuisines. Chris is excited to work with all the residents of Campbell Hall ensuring that they have a home in Campbell Hall.
Keira Unmack - Resident Advisor, Campbell Hall
Keira grew up in Ballarat, Victoria, where she stayed until the completion of her schooling in 2015. In 2016, Keira moved to Melbourne to pursue a double degree in Laws (Hons) and Biomedical Science. When not studying, Keira enjoys running, rock climbing and playing violin, as well as her work in commercial law. With 2021 as her final year at university, Keira looks forward to helping Campbell residents feel at home, and to make the most of all the social and academic opportunities on offer.
Cathy Zhang- Resident Advisor, Campbell Hall
Cathy was born in Shenyang, China, but moved to Melbourne in 2007 and spent most of her life growing up there. She is Currently studying a Bachelor of psychology (honours). In Cathy's spare time she enjoys discovery new music and making Spotify playlists as well as watching every possible thing on Netflix. She also loves to travel around Melbourne in search for good food. Cathy is very passionate about hall culture and aims to create a warm welcoming environment for all residents.
Shruthi Shankar - Resident Advisor, Campbell Hall
Shruthi is an international student from India, who moved to Melbourne in 2018 to pursue a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours). In her spare time, Shruthi loves spending time with her friends, dancing, watching crime documentaries/shows or playing sports casually. She is excited about meeting people and getting to know about their cultural backgrounds, making new friends, and is looking forward to bringing residents in Campbell Hall closer and creating new memories together.
Shuning Ning Wang - Resident Advisor, Campbell Hall
“Shuning Wang”, or more commonly known as Ning, is one of your 2021 RAs. Being born in China and having come to Australia at a young age, Ning is fluent in both English and Mandarin. Upon his arrival in Australia, and due to his immaculate physique and angelic voice, he was later recruited to join a certain Ballarat-based boyband, thus beginning his career in K-POP. Ning grew up in the aforementioned Western-Victorian town, Ballarat. Various talents of his include, grooving on the melodica, being able to bench 120kg, knowing the lyrics to every Itzy song and home cook who can produce some culinary masterpieces. Currently Ning studies his second year of his Medicine course.
Stacey Barbagallo - Resident Advisor, Campbell Hall
Stacey is a passionate student leader who cares deeply for those she assists. She is in her second year of studying to become a Science teacher. She grew up on a dairy farm in Northern Victoria, she loves the outdoors and nature. Stacey also plays a wide variety of sports including Footy (Aussie Rules), Netball and Tennis. A fun fact about Stacey is during her first year at university she joined the Juggling and Fire twirling Society and learnt how to juggle 3 pins. Stacey is excited to be coming back to Campbell Hall to help foster an inclusive and supportive environment for all residents.
Yufei Xu - Resident Advisor, Campbell Hall
Yufei moved to Melbourne to study Medicine and is now in her second year. She is super excited to be an RA at Campbell Hall, and she can’t wait to get to know residents from all around the world. Yufei loves learning new languages. She speaks Mandarin and is learning Spanish and Japanese! In her spare time, she can be found reading in her room, chilling in the lounge, or playing the piano in the music room. Yufei enjoys having conversations with others, and she is looking forward to creating a comfortable and inclusive environment for everyone!
