Dr Vivianne Nikou
Dr Vivianne Nikou is the principal of Alphington Grammar School, a role she took on in 2013 after spending 21 years at Caulfield Grammar.
She completed a Bachelor of Arts, Diploma of Education and a Master of Education Policy Administration at Monash, and her roles in both government and independent schools have included teaching humanities, English, Indonesian and Greek, head of humanities, head of house, and deputy principal. These led her to complete her doctoral studies focusing on experiential learning for a globalised workforce.
Her main focus across 40 years in the education sector has been to enhance cross-cultural understandings of young people, and has resulted in partnerships in Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, China, Cyprus, Turkey, Greece and Vietnam.
She has eight years’ corporate experience with Slade Partners, where she was general manager overseeing education, government and health, and also has broad experience in real estate, hospitality and the clothing sector.
She’s established industry partnerships with a range of organisations to provide greater opportunities for students and staff in schools.
