Ms Fran Reddan
Fran Reddan’s experience in the education sector spans more than 25 years. Principal at Mentone Girls’ Grammar for the past 14 years, she’s taught from prep to Year 12 in co-educational, all-girls’ and tertiary settings.
Beginning her career as a teacher of French and maths in the independent sector, her interests are varied. She’s contributed to curriculum development, technology, pastoral care, intercultural competency, sport and the performing arts.
With her passion for education, she’s propelled Mentone Girls’ Grammar into the global arena with international partnerships, global citizenship and advanced STEM curriculum initiatives. She’s partnered with parents and business to launch the Enterprise Academy, encouraging new ways of experiencing ‘school’ through entrepreneurship and real-world educational and career opportunities for students and staff. She’s driven progressive strategic plans for the school through a culture of ‘WAVES’ – Wellbeing, Achievement, Values, Enterprise and Success.
In 2018, she was named on The Educator magazine’s ‘Hot List’, and is listed in Who’s Who and Who’s Who of Australian Women for her contribution to education. She’s held positions on several cross-sectoral boards, including as president of the Alliance of Girls’ Schools Australasia, the peak advocacy group for girls’ education.
