Alumni in the US were delighted to end the summer by bringing together their New York Global Leaders for a reception. The in-person engagement was warmly welcomed, with a few alumni making the trip to New York City from Washington DC and Pennsylvania.

North America-based alumni manager and host John Crozier-Durham was pleased to welcome newly-appointed Australian Consul-General Nick Greiner AC, who has indicated he would like to make Australian education and research a strong focus in economic diplomacy conversations.

Many other prominent alumni also attended, including Penn State’s Professor Jenni Evans, a Monash Fellow and  the liaison for the Monash-Penn State partnership.

John took the opportunity to share news that the 2021 intake of the award-winning Global Discovery Program, a virtual study tour of New York City, has now opened.

The program is largely supported and delivered by New York City-based senior alumni and other representatives from the Global Leaders’ Network who were attending the reception. The Global Leaders’ Network looks forward to meeting students, albeit virtually, and anticipating what the 2021 cohort will achieve.

John also warmly thanked and welcomed Leesa Charlotte, who recently joined Monash to assist with alumni engagement events, for helping to arrange the outstanding event. Alumni were greatly appreciative of the opportunity to reconnect and socialise.
