It was a trip down memory lane for alumni attending Open Day
In August, we were thrilled to welcome over 200 Monash alumni, guests and staff to the Alumni Lounge at the Clayton Campus for Open Day. This new initiative, hosted at the Monash Club, gave attendees the opportunity to take a break from their busy schedules, escape the cool weather and enjoy light refreshments with their families, recent graduates, alumni speakers and staff.
“The Alumni Lounge was an area for inclusive connections and thought provoking conversations to be had. I enjoyed sharing stories of my Monash experience and opportunities offered by the global network that is Monash,” said Steph Poynton, a 2017 graduate and volunteer host at the Alumni Lounge.
For many alumni, like Jenny Law and her husband Harvey, it had been a long time between visits.
“I thoroughly relished the opportunity to revisit my favourite haunts, reminisce my uni days and show my kids around the campus. Seeing lecture theatre E1 triggered memories of those 8am starts in first year and the friendships formed. A special thank you to the team for the hot cuppa in the lounge.”
Thank you to everyone who came past to say hello and congratulations to Jason who was the winner of an online course with Monash Training and Professional Development. We look forward to providing a special break out space for alumni at future Open Day events.
