A co-design learning lab

Led by Professor Lisa Grocott, WonderLab research operates at the nexus of design, learning and play. Our research is grounded in interdisciplinary collaborations and navigated through making, playing, storytelling, embodying and prototyping. Including learners and teachers as research partners is central to how we stay relevant and working with learning scientists, educators and performers is how we stay curious. Our interventions seek to translate research into tangible, transferable, never-before-seen learning experiences.

At the heart of the WonderLab is a 20+ strong community of design PhD candidates and researchers from adjacent disciplines invested in how to design transformational learning experiences for teachers, students and workers. By surfacing people’s mental models for learning and speculating on new learning futures we explore experiential pedagogy that focuses not on what we know but how we learn.
