Sing This at My Funeral

Associate Professor David Slucki

About the project

David Slucki, Loti Smorgon Associate Professor in Contemporary Jewish Life and Culture, was recently featured on the podcast of Los Angeles-based theatre company, Dybukkast. The episode, featured in the podcast’s second season, delves into David’s recent book, Sing This at My Funeral, a multigenerational family memoir. David talked to the podcast about his grandparents’ survival of World War II, about postwar Jewish migration to Australia, about the history of the Jewish Labor Bund, and about growing up in Yiddish Melbourne. Australian actor Damian Walshe-Howling read excerpts from the book. You can listen to the podcast here, and find David’s book here.
