A Monash University study has found more than a third of domestic violence specialists working in regional and metropolitan areas in Qld reported an increase in perpetrators using the COVID pandemic as an excuse to be controlling and get physical. Centre Research Fellow and Project Chief Investigator Dr Naomi Pfitzner appeared on WIN News Bendigo, Gippsland and Ballarat alongside Domestic Violence Resource Centre Victorian CEO Emily Macguire. Dr Pfitzner presented on the findings of the research reporting that 59% of 166 family violence support workers in Victoria said the frequency of domestic violence has increased since the coronavirus lockdown.
