About the research
The Gender and Family Violence Prevention Centre was contracted by the Queensland Domestic and Family Violence Death Review and Advisory Board (the Board) to prepare an expert report and review of four cases of female-perpetrated intimate partner homicide in March 2020. The case reviews involved the in-depth review of histories of domestic and family violence and service system contact of relevant families/ couples. The aim of the reviews was to identify systemic gaps in service system responses to domestic and family violence and identify opportunities for future directions and good practice in police, corrections, health and mental health responses to domestic and family violence.
The MGFVPC team prepared a 65-page expert report for the Board to assist case reviews specific to female perpetrated intimate partner homicide.
