Karin Aggestam is professor of Political Science at Lund University, visiting professor at Monash University and honorary professor at University of Queensland, Australia. She was recently appointed the Torsten and Ragnar Söderberg Foundation Chair in Commemoration of Samuel Pufendorf for 2016-2020. She is also excellent teaching practitioner (ETP) at the Teaching Academy of the Social Sciences at Lund University. She has been director of Peace & Conflict Studies, Lund University, senior associate member at St Antony's College, Oxford University and held visiting research and teaching fellowships at universities of Queensland, Otago, Fudan, Sabanci and Jerusalem.
Karin is presently lead author for the International Panel on Social Progress and book series co-editor on Law, Conflict and International Relations (Routledge). Her current interdisciplinary research interests include gender, peacebuilding, diplomacy, peace negotiation/mediation and hydropolitics. Some of her most recent books are Gendering diplomacy and international negotiation (forthcoming with Ann Towns) and Rethinking peacebuilding: The quest for a just peace in the Middle East and the Western Balkans (2013, with Annika Björkdahl).
