A2 CEFR I can understand phrases and the highest frequency vocabulary related to areas of most immediate personal relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment). I can catch the main point in short, clear, simple messages and announcements. I can read very short, simple texts. I can find specific, predictable information in simple everyday material such as advertisements, prospectuses, menus and timetables and I can understand short simple personal letters. I can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar topics and activities. I can handle very short social exchanges, even though I can’t usually understand enough to keep the conversation going myself. I can use a series of phrases and sentences to describe in simple terms my family and other people, living conditions, my educational background and my present or most recent job. I can write a series of simple phrases and sentences linked with simple connections like ‘and’, ‘but’, and ‘because’.
A2+ French Studies I am improving my ability to listen and globally understand authentic audio file (2-4 min). I am able to read different kinds of practical documents and find simple relevant information. I can handle short social exchanges based on role play. For the final exam, I have to interact for 8 min on a given topic. I am trained to make a 5 min presentation on topics (such as family, education experience, jobs, books and movies) which will be a part of the final exam. I can write simple sentences and organise them to produce a composition (300 words) about familiar topics. I can also write short letters in a formal style (200 words).
A2 French Studies I am working to be able to listen and globally understand authentic audio file (2-4 min). I am prepared for a listening test in which I have to answer several related questions. I can read simple texts on everyday life. I am improving my ability to interact through role play on prepared topics. At the end of the semester, I am able to present for 8 min on a topic with 15 mins preparation time. I can describe my familiar environment (such as family, friends, work). I am able to articulate more abstract notions involving memory recall and future projections. I am working on being able to produce simple sentences. I am trained to write a personal letter (200 words).

At the end of the semester, I am able to write a composition (300 words) narrating events or relating experience.
