MMIC presents ‘Visualizing Human Diversity’ webinar with Associate Professor Alan Gamlen
MMIC’s webinar event ‘Visualizing Human Diversity’ with Associate Professor Alan Gamlen will take place on Wednesday October 6, 2021, 9:30-10:30am (AEST). Registration is free.
The event will be hosted by MMIC’s Director, Professor Rebecca Wickes, and will include a presentation from Alan Gamlen, followed by a Q&A with attendees. Alan’s presentation will explore contemporary approaches to multidimensional data analysis on socio-economic diversity. Such approaches can contribute to the methodological and theoretical advances that are needed to study contemporary socio-economic diversity and develop better public understandings and policies regarding processes of diversification. Alan will draw on current research projects including his work on Superdiversity as well as a Google Earth data visualisation from MMIC’s recent Network of Excellence on Regional Liveable Diversity to illustrate these approaches and provide stimulus for discussion.
