Monash University Malaysia hosts webinar to launch Working Paper Series

Monash University Malaysia is hosting two free webinars on March 9 and 11 2022 to launch the ‘Migration and Mobility in The Asia Pacific’ Working Paper Series.

Migration and Mobility in the Asia Pacific (MMAP) is an interdisciplinary research cluster established in 2020 and based at Monash University Malaysia. Led by Dr Sharuna Verghis (Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences) and Dr Koh Sin Yee (School of Arts and Social Sciences), the MMAP aims to foster a multifaceted dialogue on the complexity of migration and mobilities in the Asia Pacific.

In March 2022, the MMAP will launch its Working Paper Series to provide scholars, practitioners and policy makers an avenue to share and exchange research, information and data, with the broader aim of promoting more equitable approaches and understanding of this under researched area of migration and migrant communities in the Asia Pacific.

The webinars will take place on March 9 and 11 (6-8pm AEDT / 3-5pm MYT), with an international list of speakers including Dr Theresa Devasahayam (Singapore University), Dr Fabiola Mancinelli (University of Barcelona), Dr Priyanca Mathur (Jain University) and Mr Tim Weedon, presenting on labour migration, lifestyle migration, forced migration, and human trafficking in the Asia Pacific.

Each webinar will feature two papers, with the author presentation followed by comments from invited discussants who are experts in their respective fields.
