Two PhD scholarships available through Global Encounters

Are you, or would someone you know be, interested in working on the Global Encounters project?

We have two PhD scholarships available. You will need to be suitably qualified (have a four-year undergraduate degree with strong results), and due to the current restrictions resulting from COVID, be in Australia, or have Australian citizenship or residency. We are based in Naarm (Melbourne) at Monash University’s Clayton Campus, but have flexible working arrangements.

Our project is interdisciplinary, and we are keen to know about what your expertise and inspiration can bring to the project. Your experience might be in Indigenous Studies, history, archaeology, anthropology, digital humanities, human geography, art, literature or something else – these are all related to our research.

The scholarship provides a $29,500 per annum (full-time rate) tax-free stipend for three years, and there is a generous additional allowance possible for Indigenous applicants. There is also provision for research, travel (when permitted) and development, and a supportive, passionate research environment within Monash Indigenous Studies Centre.

If you would like more information on joining our team, please contact Lynette Russell at lynette.russell@monash.edu.
