About the Performance

Experience the joy of the Monash Academy Orchestra performing live on stage in a celebratory program of musical exploration.

Delving into the Classical era, the orchestra will explore the theoretical and practical aspects of performing exhilarating symphonic works by Haydn and Mozart in an historically informed performance style by bringing the history and context of these works alive. The energy and drive of the Classical symphony is reinforced in this program where both Haydn and Mozart utilised the drama of trumpets and timpani and the harmonic beauty of horns and woodwinds together with the textures and timbres of the strings to create unity and grandeur, variety and nuance.
