Image-based abuse study goes international

A new Images of Me study will explore the nature and impact of ‘revenge porn' in Australia as well as in New Zealand and the UK. The study  follows on from research undertaken last year by Dr Asher Flynn from Monash Criminology with Associate Professor Nicola Henry and Dr Anastasia Powell, which found that one in five Australians had experienced imaged-based abuse. The expanded study involves an international collaboration with overseas researchers from Auckland, Durham and Birmingham Universities. As well as introducing a comparative element, the research will increase knowledge about the experiences of victims and motivations of perpetrators.
