Professional staff

Operating in the year of disruption

Professional staff are the backbone of the Business School and in 2020 played an integral role in ensuring the School could continue to deliver high quality education. In recognition of their outstanding efforts, the 2020 Dean’s Award for Professional Excellence was awarded to the following staff:

  • The team of Mr Chris Keynes and Ms Gillian Skwarek, Graduate Development
  • Mrs Siobhan Gallagher, Education Services
  • The team of Ms Stephanie Hah, Ms Natalie Bridges, Mr James Collins and Ms Katherine Cashmore, Student Recruitment - Engagement and Marketing Services.

“In 2020, there was no doubt the energy, enthusiasm and commitment of Mr Keynes and Ms Skwarek enhanced our brand and reputation with both industry partners and students alike,” says Karen McRae, Group Manager, Student and Education Services.

“And amid the fast-changing business requirements that arose from the University’s response to COVID-19, Mrs Gallagher’s leadership ensured continuity of service, with her innovations and improvements set to continue to assist the University in evolving its e-Assessment platform and Streamlined Curriculum Information Management project,” she says.

Speaking on combating the effects of the global health pandemic on student numbers, Katya Dunham, ‎Senior Engagement and Marketing Services Manager said “With all travel cancelled and our usual recruitment channels closed, the Student Recruitment team worked tirelessly to develop new and dynamic ways to engage future and current students in Australia and around the world. This was an enormous team effort and played a critical role in the University’s recruitment and retention strategy.”
