About the Monash Business Policy Forum

Monash Business Policy Forum (MBPF) was established to facilitate research in important areas of interest to the Australian business and public policy communities.

Our aim is to have policy impact. We research areas of direct interest to both business and government. We communicate our findings to business, government, the academic community and the broader public. Our research and engagement creates links between Monash Business School, business and government, to assist in the formulation and implementation of better policy.

Our research agenda looks at issues in several areas directly related to business in Australia and overseas. Our main areas of focus include:

  • Competition
  • Microeconomic policy
  • Law and governance

Our research agenda for the coming years is to:

  • Carry out original research in areas of microeconomic policy, including competition policy and law reform, regulation, banking, digital markets, media, and corporate governance
  • Actively engage with relevant business and government organisations (e.g. BCA, Treasury, Competition Policy Review) on these issues
  • Disseminate our research findings through papers, academic journal publications, presentations to relevant groups, industry and government fora, and the popular media.
