Sisira Jayasuriya

Sisira Jayasuriya is Professor of Economics in the Department of Economics and an Adjunct Professor at the Arndt-Corden Department of Economics at the Australian National University, Canberra, Australia.

He has held previous appointments at the Australian National University, La Trobe University, Melbourne University (where he was Director, Asian Economics Centre),and the International Rice Research Institute, Philippines. Born in Sri Lanka, where he completed his undergraduate education, Sisira's research has covered a range of topics on South Asia. His current South Asian research is on the political economy of post-civil war challenges in Sri Lanka and agricultural markets and environmental issues in India (in collaboration with the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER), India).
