What do Australians really care about?
New survey and experimental evidence
Australian Research Council
2018 – 2021
This project aims to provide detailed investigations into the relative importance of key life domains at different life stages in determining overall subjective well-being of Australians. It will use both nationally representative survey data, and innovative choice experiments, to generate new knowledge and contribute to the rapidly expanding economics literature that uses subjective well-being measures to gauge individual and societal welfare. The new insights from the project will aid policy-makers in better understanding what aspects of life Australians most care about at different stages of life. This evidence will help prioritise those policies which maximise the well-being of Australians.
