Child health and development
Investments in childhood health and development are important for individual prosperity over the life course. Skill development and good health in childhood determine, among other things, health in adulthood, educational outcomes, labour market participation and income. What factors influence the development of children’s cognitive skills, emotional wellbeing and physical health? What motivates children to excel at school? How does socioeconomic disadvantage influence these determining factors? These are just some of the questions we are exploring, predominantly by applying advanced econometric models to large longitudinal datasets and administrative records in both developed and developing country settings.
