Ethical and Sustainable Fashion in a Global Market

4 - 11 December 2022

BEX3725/BEX5725 Engaging with International Business, Byron

This unit may count as a capstone or an elective unit in your undergraduate or postgraduate degree

Ethical and Sustainable Fashion in a Global Market requires students to examine a broad range of external and internal issues that businesses in the fashion industry face in meeting fast changing global consumer needs and trends, as well as the enormous growth in online shopping. There appears to be an inherent dissonance among both branded and fast fashion consumers, who often share a concern for environmental and ethical issues even as they indulge in consumer patterns antithetical to ecological and ethical best practices. This unit entails students analysing the impact on the strategy and operations of organisations who wish to produce ethical and sustainable fashion products, while remaining profitable. In undertaking this evaluation, students will also focus on developing cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity, along with effective teamwork.
