Monash Sourced Placements are unpaid opportunities for students eligible to undertake these as academic units.
We are excited to confirm that Monash-sourced WIL Internships will be offered for Semester 2. The WIL team find placements that are in the following 8 general placement categories:
There are many variations to these general categories and we have over 400 partner host organisations so a wide range of options are available.
VWIL offers a local immersive experience that will be supported by a host supervisor, unit coordinators and the WIL team. VWIL is not a simulation; it is an opportunity to be part of an historic change to the way in which we work, and to learn from the experience. VWIL involves the same excellent hosts and industry exposure you would expect from an internship unit. The main difference between our normal WIL placements and VWIL is that the placement will be undertaken remotely, rather than in the workplace.
Receive an $8000 scholarship with a high profile company and gain credit towards your studies! Placements are currently available with TABCORP, Choice Hotels & Orora with the Accounting Scholarship program.
There is NO obligation for hosts to set assignments for students. Assessment is arranged by faculty. Students may seek advice from the host around their assignments, but there is no obligation for hosts to be involved in academic assessments. Hosts will be asked to complete a survey at the end of the placement.
It is your responsibility to ensure that you have available credit points in your course to fit your WIL unit. WIL units can usually be taken in place of elective or capstone units, or a combination of both.
We encourage you to use the Monash University handbook from the year you started your course and MonPlan for guidance.
You will need to provide your updated resume. Please save the file as a Word document and name the file as:
First Name - Last Name - Student ID - Resume.doc
Career Connect can provide you with assistance on writing your resume in workshops and online assistance.
We will use your responses to the Placement Proposal questions below to assess your application and shortlist you. Your responses may also be shared with the host organisation when we send your resume. Please see the questions below with some information on what we need to know:
