Professor Patrick Rey from Toulouse School of Economics returned to the department as a distinguished visitor invited by Zhijun Chen on 15 - 30 April. Patrick Rey is widely recognised as a world leader in competition economics.
He has published more than 25 articles in international top-tier economic journals such as Econometrica, the American Economic Review, the Review of Economic Studies and the RAND Journal of Economics. He has contributed to about 10 books.
Patrick Rey was a member of the Editorial Board of the Review of Economic Studies from 1992 to 1999 and is currently on the Editorial Board of Competition Policy International. Patrick has also testified in numerous antitrust cases in Europe, and conducted numerous competition workshops and seminars at the French Court of Cassation (final court of appeal) as well as with various competition authorities.
He is a member of the Economic Advisory Group for Competition Policy in European Commission and an expert for the World Bank and the OECD.
Assistant Professor Philip Ushchev at the Department of Economics of HSE St-Petersburg visited Monash Business School for a week in April invited by Yves Zenou and was financed by Yves Zenou’s ARC grant.
Philip Ushchev will return to the department as a research fellow for one year from August 2018.
