We are thrilled to welcome distinguished Monash alum and leader in Australian sport, Brigette McGuire, as the keynote speaker.
Joined by Monash University Professor Richard Hall, Ms McGuire will explore the remarkable ways women are redefining sports and inspiring future generations of young girls to become trailblazers.
During the evening we will present the Monash Business School Alumni Excellence Award, a coveted accolade bestowed upon an outstanding graduate who has made a significant impact in the business world and beyond.

Keynote speaker
Brigette McGuire
Brigette McGuire, GAICD MMktg, is an executive leader whose commercial, strategic, and innovative approach has had a positive impact on Australian sport for decades.
Ms McGuire's innate understanding of the value of sport to the female market has been a hallmark of her career, leading to growth in audience, event attendance, participation, and revenue for some of sport's biggest brands.
She now shares her passion and expertise with the next generation. As Lecturer and Unit Coordinator of the Sports Marketing and Sponsorship unit at our Faculty of Business and Economics, her achievements were recognised through the Dean’s Purple Letter in 2020, 2021 and 2023, for the top performing units in the student evaluation of teaching.
A graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, as a non-executive director, Ms McGuire has served on the Monash Business School’s Advisory Board, chaired the Department of Marketing’s Industry Advisory Board and the Sport Environment Alliance Advisory Board and is President of the Women’s Tennis Foundation.
In her spare time, Ms McGuire enjoys playing and coaching tennis. An avid learner, she expands her knowledge through executive education in business ethics, governance, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. In 2022, she completed her first marathon.

Professor Simon Wilkie, Dean, Faculty of Business and Economics, Head of Monash Business School
Professor Wilkie’s career spans a remarkable array of roles that extend beyond the higher education sphere and include appointments as Chief Economic Policy Strategist at Microsoft Corporation and Chief Economist with the US Federal Communications Commission.
In 2019, Prof Wilkie joined Monash Business School from the University of Southern California (USC). His research has particularly focused on game theory, its application to business strategy, economic and regulatory policy design, and the economics of the communications industries.
With an exceptional record for advancing multi-disciplinary collaborative research and leveraging its potential to transform policy and create lasting impact, he is widely published on the subjects of spectrum auctions, game theory and telecommunications regulation in leading scholarly journals.
