Monash Business School's Department of Business Law and Taxation and the Corporate Law, Organisation and Litigation Research Group (CLOL) invite you to a public lecture by international Fintech regulatory expert Professor Saule Omarova to present her research findings, 'Technology Versus Technocracy: Fintech as a regulatory challenge'.
From Cornell University in the United States, Professor Omarova is internationally known for her work on the regulation of financial institutions, banking law, international finance, and corporate finance.
Professor Omarova examines fintech as a systemic force disrupting the current paradigm of financial regulation. In this lecture, she will offer several alternative reform options that explicitly target the current fragmented efforts to regulate fintech, which has been dominated by a micro-transactional approach.
Monash Business School's Department of Business Law and Taxation is also proud to officially launch the new Master of Regulation and Compliance commencing this year, which addresses complex regulatory, compliance and risk challenges facing modern businesses. The course will be officially launched at this event by Professor Graeme Samuel AC, Vice Chancellor’s Professorial Fellow in the Faculty of Business and Economics, Monash University.
