Matt English is an Industry Fellow at Monash Business School, and leads the consulting projects on the Monash MBA program. He has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Queensland and a Master of Business Administration from IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Matt’s business career has involved senior roles as a management consulting partner with PwC and an executive with IBM. He has specialised in working closely with CEOs and executive teams on strategy consulting, focusing on business model change, designing and delivering executive-level education, and developing thought leadership for C-suite executives across Asia Pacific. He has worked and travelled extensively in Asia, Europe, North America and Australia, and has lived in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Bangkok, Jakarta and Lausanne.
Matt has authored the book Grasping Social Media (2014), the story of his personal journey around the highs and lows of social media, and demonstrating frameworks to drive more effective use of social media both for business and personal application. Other publications he has co-authored include the 2013 IBM publication Towards 2015 – Delivering public sector digital transformation in Australia, the 2013 IBM / NIEIR publication Reinventing Australian enterprises for the digital economy, and the Australian point-of-view for the 2012 IBM Global CEO study entitled Leading through Connections.
