Marketing industry placements
Work integrated learning gives students the opportunity to network with industry representatives, define career directions, gain hands-on work experience and increase employment prospects. Final-year students may select the marketing industry placement as an elective unit in the concluding stage of their degree.
This unit aims to give students first-hand experience of working in an industry in which they would like to be employed on graduation. Industry placements (internships) are designed to provide students with an opportunity to integrate marketing theory with business practice. Separate industry placement programs are drawn up for each student. Students take on projects within industry to gain real world experience and to prepare them for their chosen career.
Both students and industry derive significant benefits from the Marketing industry placement program. Final year students studying the Bachelor of Marketing, Business or Commerce degree with a major in Marketing can enrol in this elective unit as part of their degree. Double degree students from Law, Sciences, Finance, IT are sought after with a variety of clients interested in their knowledge in conjunction with marketing skills.
Refer to the handbook for information on entry requirements.
