- Senior Associate, Strategic Project Partners
- "Being part of the Monash MBA and having access to the Career Advancement Program gave me opportunities to make new connections and transition my career."
Jens Myhrman was looking to make a double shift, breaking away from his specialist marketing career in Sweden and shifting to a generalist role in Australia. He chose the Monash MBA for its emphasis on strategic leadership and personal development.
“The one-on-one Monash MBA Career Advancement Program sessions were very helpful. Through challenging conversations and having to answer the hard questions I was able to increase my self-awareness and really focus on what I wanted to achieve.”
Jens soon chose to focus on management consulting and this career shift was supported by the Monash MBA consulting projects, which expose students to a variety of Australian business contexts. Student teams bring a wealth of experience to each consulting project with Monash MBA cohorts typically having an average of seven years’ work experience across a range of sectors.
“One of the best features of the program was the truly diverse range of managerial experience. I was thrilled with the breadth of sectors represented with students coming from industries ranging from not-for-profit to banks, from arts to army,” Jens said.
Jens completed his double shift soon after graduation when he started as a Senior Associate with Strategic Project Partners (SPP), a mid-size generalist management consulting firm. With client contact right from the start and projects in government, education and entertainment, Jens is now enjoying the accelerated learning management consulting has to offer.
