- Key Account Manager, Orora Fibre Packaging
- "I found the Career Advancement Program meetings very specific to what I wanted to do. It’s not a general program, it’s specific to the person."
I work at Orora, a publicly listed packaging solutions company, as a Key Account Manager and have progressed with them through various roles over the past 5 years. In my line of work, I am aware that anyone in a senior position tends to have some form of post graduate study behind them. I had always wanted to do an MBA as I knew it would help to develop my leadership skills and broaden my global business knowledge. For me personally, I reached a point where I was ready to take it on at the beginning of 2018.
I chose the Monash MBA because the program seemed really inclusive. It is a tight-knit community where you know everyone, staff and students alike on a first name basis. I have found Monash to be very forward thinking and practical. Throughout the program we have worked in teams on a series of live consulting projects which has been a fantastic experience. Everything feels really integrated and relevant.
I had moved from Adelaide to further my career with Orora and to commence an MBA, with Monash being the best fit for me. As part of my Monash MBA I was able to reach out to the Career Advancement Program (CAP), which helped me prepare a strategy to secure my current position as Key Account Manager. I have found the door is always open if you want to discuss your career development and advancement. From day one I have felt that if I needed assistance getting connected to an industry or individuals, Monash would be there to help.
The Monash MBA assisted in enabling me to take this next step in my career, and I know CAP will continue to support me as I work towards more senior leadership positions in the future.
