  • "I felt the Monash MBA was quite different to any other offered in Australia"

I am a strategy consultant and currently have a diverse group of clients, both here and offshore. I embarked on an MBA because I knew I needed to harness and add to my skill set to progress to a leadership position. I chose Monash as I felt their MBA is quite different to any other offered in Australia. It is structured in an extremely practical way as subjects are combined and applied in an integrated way to real businesses, meaning you learn on the job.

The Future Business Council is a membership-based organisation that represents the next generation of businesses and explores ways in which Australia can best position itself for future trends. It provides a united front for businesses across a variety industries with a strong emphasis on sustainability, innovation, ethical practice and corporate responsibility. These are issues close to my heart.

Monash and the FBC have a joint scholarship, which I was awarded this year. The scholarship is aimed at those who can articulate a compelling vision of Australia as a global hub for business innovation. It has given me a seat at the table with senior members of business as well as exposure to best practice. I am meeting many people across different industries and am finding the networking is invaluable. In addition, I am formally credited for work I contribute which is raising my own profile and getting my name out there.

At this point in my career, where I’m starting to get more board work, the Monash MBA, and FBC exposure in particular, is allowing me to network with senior and progressive people at the forefront of decision making about Australia’s future.
