Syd Bone

Chairman of Research Engagement Network

Syd Bone is an Affiliated Expert of MCFS and Chairman of its Research Engagement Network. The Network facilitates interaction between academics and industry on investment related topics of mutual interest.

In industry, Syd is CEO of CP2 Limited, a specialist infrastructure funds manager he joined in 2010. Eastlink tollroad in Melbourne is a familiar asset in the CP2 portfolio. He also has a portfolio of non-executive roles including Chairman of the audit & operational risk committee at Investa Office Management, a member of the investment committee at TelstraSuper , and Chairman of the investment committee at Trinity College.

Previously, Syd was CEO of Victorian Funds Management Corporation for five years which manages assets on behalf of the State of Victoria. Prior to this Syd spent 14 years overseas, 7 years as MD of Baring Asset Management in Hong Kong and a similar period as a partner at Towers Perrin actuarial consultants in Hong Kong and New York.

Syd is a Fellow of the Actuaries Institute of Australia and holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from the University of Melbourne.
