Professor Gavin Jack

Gavin Jack is the inaugural Associate Dean Research Impact and Professor of Management. His job is to support researchers to make a positive difference beyond the academy by engaging with industry, government and community stakeholders in Australia and overseas to co-create change and benefit society, the economy, culture and the environment.

His multidisciplinary research interests and expertise include workplace diversity and inclusion, postcolonial organisation studies, sustainable agricultural development, and qualitative and critical management research methods. He has been a Co-chair of the Critical Management Studies Division of the Academy of Management.

Gavin undertakes collaborative cross-disciplinary research with scholars and practitioners in geography, food security, medicine, health psychology, sociology, languages and intercultural communication.

He also enjoys working with professional bodies and organisations spanning a range of private, public (e.g., large public hospitals) and third/community sector (e.g., farmer-led organisations) settings in Australia and overseas.

Gavin has an extensive range of teaching and supervision experience, from undergraduate to MBAs and executive education. He has co-supervised over 20 PhDs to completion in Australia, Denmark and the UK.

Gavin previously worked at La Trobe University in Melbourne, and before that in the UK at the Universities of Leicester, Keele and Stirling.
