The history of Monash Business School is colourful and dynamic.
It is a history that celebrates diversity in teaching and research, the development of a unique identity and character, and positive responses to changing external and internal environments.
The early years
When Monash University opened its doors in 1961, 57 students were enrolled in the Bachelor of Economics.
By 1968, these numbers had risen to 1400 – what was then known as the Faculty of Business and Politics had become the largest economics faculty in Australia.
We have put together an interactive timeline, which includes some of the School's milestones.
