Associate Professor Herman Tse
Director, Early Career Researchers Network
Herman is an Associate Professor in the Department of Management at Monash Business School.
Herman’s research interests include different forms of leadership effectiveness, emotions in teams, multilevel issues and Chinese management issues. His research has received international recognition based on a strong research trajectory – e.g., a sustained record of research publications (i.e., 80% of his publications have appeared in the A* and A ABDC-listed journals); an excellent track record of receiving prestigious research awards (i.e.,13 awards including the 2017 Dean’s Research Excellence Award and the 2011 ANZAM’s Early Career Researcher (ECR) Award) and also a strong record of collaborating with industry partners to address complex issues in organisations.
With respect to his leadership and service in the ECR Network, he has been involved in providing ECRs with professional support to develop a productive and rewarding career in a few aspects that include
- working with the Departmental ECR representatives and the Faculty Research Team to organise various networking and professional development events on relevant topics such as industry engagement, showcasing research impacts or promoting interdepartmental research collaborations;
- managing the application process of ECR research grant and research excellence award schemes;
- organising the annual ECR conference to provide professional support for career development; and
- promoting the university-wide ECR events and networking opportunities within the Monash Business School.
