Orientation for international graduate research students

Our orientation sessions aim to introduce you to your campus, the facilities, support services, staff and other students.

As a new research student, you need to attend one of these compulsory information sessions.

The topics covered include:

  • accommodation and living in Melbourne
  • Australian culture
  • money and tax matters
  • overseas health cover
  • research student support networks
  • support services for students with families in Australia
  • services and facilities on campus
  • travelling around Melbourne
  • visas, regulations and work rights.

You need to register that you will attend a session. Sessions are open to students from any campus. Click on the session date to register.

Settling in at Monash

Because of the delay in our on-campus classes and events, we encourage you to watch our orientation videos if you're unable to attend our face-to-face information sessions. They'll help you settle in at Monash and prepare for life in Melbourne.
