You can use our ATAR calculator to predict your potential ATAR, and see what course options are available to you.
Already know what you want to study? Our ATAR calculator will help you get an idea of the score you may need to get into the course of your choice.
If your ATAR is what you expected, and you’re fairly certain of what courses you want to include in your final preferences, then sit tight!
You may want to double-check that you meet the prerequisites and any special requirements. If you have any final questions about the courses you have applied for, you can attend our Change Day Expo or contact us for any advice or assistance you need.
Congrats! If your course preferences are the same, you don’t have to do anything! But you may want to consider courses you’d previously left out of your preferences.
It’s important to not let your ATAR dictate your course preferences, however.
Make sure you’re applying for the courses that you’re passionate about, and best suit your interests and goals. Don’t forget to consider double degree options or our advanced courses for high-achieving students.
There’s no need to panic - we have options for you.
You could consider diploma or pathway programs, or courses with lower ATARs as a pathway to your dream course.
Great questions! Yes, the order of your preferences dictates the course offers you receive.
You’ll only receive an offer for the highest eligible course in your preferences, even if you’re eligible for others. So list your preferences in the order you most want to study them.
To change your preferences, log into VTAC.
Try not to remove courses from your preference list if you plan to add them again later -- you can just reorder them without deleting any.
You may find some courses can’t be added during change of preference, and this is because these courses will have additional requirements such as an interview or portfolio.
Read the selection criteria carefully and contact us if you’re not sure about any of the courses and what you need to do to add them.
After change of preference closes, we begin assessing your preferences. If you’re eligible, you’ll receive an offer for your highest course preference.
Monash will be making as many offers as possible in December to Year 12 students studying in Victoria and Queensland, including offers to Monash Guarantee and SEAS eligible students.
But don’t worry, more offers will be made in future rounds -- so don’t rule out a course just because you didn’t receive an offer in December.
And don’t forget that not every Monash course is participating in the December offer round. Visit our site to check which courses are participating, and which aren’t.
Not a Victorian or Queensland student? Offers for these cohorts will be made from January. Check the VTAC key dates for more information.
Congratulations! We’re really excited for you to study at Monash. Make sure you follow the instructions in your offer letter or visit the Get Started website for further information.
Unfortunately, if you haven’t achieved the prerequisites, you won’t be eligible for an offer, even if you achieved the required ATAR.
You need to achieve all prerequisites to be made an offer, even if you’re eligible for the Monash Guarantee or SEAS, are transferring from another course or are a mature age student.
You may receive offers in the first, second or subsequent offer rounds. We recommend you accept your first offer, to secure your place at university.
It won’t affect your chance of receiving another offer for a course higher on your preferences.
Firstly, well done, that’s great news!
If you’ve received a scholarship offer, make sure you clearly read the terms and conditions and follow the instructions to accept it. Scholarship offers have an expiry date, so make sure you respond in time.
However, scholarships are conditional upon receiving a course offer, so unfortunately no, it doesn’t guarantee you a place at Monash.
If you’re in Melbourne on Friday 13 December, come along to our Change Day Expo at our Caulfield campus to talk to our course and pathway advisers one-on-one.
If you can’t make it to our expo, then contact us on 1800 MONASH or submit an online enquiry.
We’ve extended our phone hours during this period, to ensure we can help you with your questions.
