This workshop will cover the basic principles behind the use of TensorFlow, a popular open-source machine learning and general numerical computing framework supported by Google. TensorFlow allows researchers to rapidly develop machine learning applications in Python that can take advantage of GPU acceleration without any specialist knowledge in parallel computing. Attendees will gain an understanding of the basic building blocks of deep neural networks and how they have been used to solve problems such as image classification and text analysis through the use of interactive Jupyter notebooks and hands-on programming exercises. In addition to the practical programming components, through exposure to machine learning terminology attendees are also expected to gain the confidence to engage with emerging research in the field.
Foundational - intermediate level.
