Monash Data Futures Institute Research Fellows
The Monash Data Futures Institute has a mission to bring teams together across Monash University to tackle large and significant research problems in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data science. Our Research Fellows are working to accelerate progress in these areas and to further our work in AI for social good.
Surekha Gaikwad has recently completed her Masters of Computing (Advanced) from the Australian National University (ANU) with a specialisation in Artificial Intelligence and Computer Vision. Her research project titled "Deep Emotion Recognition" was completed in collaboration with the Australian Federal Police and ANU to identify emotions and psychological state of mind of people, using Bayesian deep learning techniques.
Previously, Surekha completed her Bachelors degree in Computer Science from Pune University, India. She then worked both as a Software Developer and as a Quality Assurance Analyst in various organisations.
Surekha has wide experience in various technologies related to both frontend and backend development. While working with CDK Global, she was a branding ambassador, representing the organisation in the market.
