Our affiliation program
We have a strong community of AI and data science researchers who excel in transformative research and collaborate with experts in medicine and public health, governance, engineering and environmental conservation. We welcome you to join the MDFI community by becoming an Institute affiliate (link below).

International alliances
Monash University has secured global relationships to provide education and research opportunities, thus fostering collaborations with thought leaders worldwide. The Institute supports and organises distinguished lecture series, and promotes international alliances in AI and data science.

Institute-funded grants and PhD scholarships
The Institute has introduced prestigious Seed Grants, awarded annually to cross-faculty teams of established researchers, and PhD scholarships for outstanding candidates, that address global challenges through the advancement of AI and data science.

Research Director, Monash Data Futures Institute
Associate Professor Collevecchio has a joint appointment with the Monash Data Futures Institute and the School of Mathematics in the Faculty of Science.
After earning his PhD in Statistics from Purdue University (USA) in 2004, Andrea held postdoc positions in Italy and Germany, and later became an Assistant Professor at the Ca’Foscari University in Venice in 2006. He joined the School of Mathematics at Monash University in 2012. His research lies at the intersection of Probability, Analysis and Mathematical Physics.
As Research Director of the Institute, Andrea is leading the research agenda for MDFI by bringing together cross-disciplinary AI and data science expertise from across the University.
