How to Reach an Optimal Strategy for You and Your Opponents?
Event date: 16 March 2023
In this webinar, MDFI Research Director Associate Professor Andrea Collevecchio shared his learnings about the connection of Probability, Statistical Mechanics and Game theory.
He explained the typical “geometry” of a game, and described its “optimal outcomes”. He used real life scenarios to explain its application when large numbers of decision makers/stakeholders with competing agendas are involved.
About the speaker:
After earning his PhD in Statistics from Purdue University (USA) in 2004, Andrea held several postdoc positions in Italy and Germany, and later became an Assistant Professor at the Ca’Foscari University in Venice in 2006.
He joined the School of Mathematics at Monash University in 2012. His research lies at the intersection of Probability, Analysis and Mathematical Physics. In particular, he is an expert in Reinforced Processes.
In 2023, he was appointed as Research Director for the Monash Data Futures Institute (MDFI).
