What Really Goes on When We "Burn Fat"?
Professor Matthew Watt talks to an online publication about the importance of fat in our bodies and disproves some beliefs that body fat is a substance that we'd all be better off without. He helps us understand how fat cells work and from there, how to reduce fat in our bodies. "Despite what many may think, you can't actually get rid fat cells permanently through working out. Instead, these fat cells either shrink or expand. During exercise, the contents of fat cells are released into the body and transported to where they are needed in the body for energy, for example, to be burnt in your muscles."
