Partha Das Laboratory

Gene Regulation

Welcome to the Partha Das Lab

Our laboratory focuses on how epigenetic (DNA and histone modifications) and epi-transcriptomic (RNA modifications) changes control gene expression programs in embryonic stem cells (ESCs), neural stem cells and differentiated cells under normal and pathological conditions, such as cancers and neurodevelopmental disorders.

We're part of the Monash Biomedicine Discovery Institute, and a member of the Development & Stem Cells Program, and the Department of Anatomy and Developmental Biology.

Our research

We use various experimental approaches and cutting-edge technologies including – cell and molecular biology, biochemistry, CRISPRs, CRISPR screens (using sgRNAs to target all the genes in the genome, epigenetic regulators and regulatory elements), NGS (ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq, Hi-C, RNA-seq, m6A RNA-seq, m5C RNA-seq, Ribo-seq, PRO-seq), proteomics, bioinformatics, computational biology to understand the gene regulation under physiological conditions and diseases.
